MITI section chief to resign to join U.S. research center+
TOKYO, Japan - A file photo of Shin Yasunobe, a 44-year-old elite bureaucrat of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), who will leave the ministry July 31 to join a Stanford University research center in Kyoto in September. Yasunobe, head of MITI's Electronics Policy Division, had been tipped as a future MITI vice minister.
