8th century Buddha image gets face-lifting
NARA, Japan - Preparations are under way Sept. 6 to give the Buddha Rushana in the main hall of Toshodaiji temple in Nara its first face-lifting in nearly 100 years. The Buddhist temple was founded in 756 in Nara by Chinese monk Jianzhen.
