Cohen proposes joint drills with China, Japan
SEOUL, South Korea - U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen proposes Sept. 20 that the United States, China and Japan hold multilateral military drills as a means to ensure greater stability in the Asia-Pacific region. In an interview with Kyodo News and other news media on a flight to Seoul, Cohen said that while China's participation can be expected, it would not be in the immediate future.
