1st F-2 support fighter handed over to ASDF+

NAGOYA, Japan - The Air Self-Defense Force received its first next-generation F-2 support fighter from its manufacturer, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., in a ceremony on Sept. 25. The aircraft -- considered the most expensive fighter on record at a cost of about 12 billion yen per plane -- was handed over by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at the company's plant in the town of Toyoyama, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan.
