Scalapino 'cautiously optimistic' on Korean reunification
OSAKA, Japan - Robert Scalapino, a U.S. expert on East Asian affairs, says he is ''cautiously optimistic'' about the reunification of the two Koreas. Scalapino, professor emeritus at the Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of California at Berkeley, made the remark in a recent interview with Kyodo News. Scalapino visited Japan to attend an international forum commemorating the opening of the Osaka International Convention Center in Osaka.
