Astronauts attach new docking port to space station
HOUSTON, United States - Japanese mission specialist Koichi Wakata smiles on the space shuttle Discovery on Oct. 16 after he and two American astronauts successfully attached a new docking port to the International Space Station on the sixth day of their 11-day mission. The installation of the PMA-3 dock was one of the two principal goals for the Discovery mission. Photo was taken from a TV broadcast by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
