Residents in Kashima town evacuate in nuclear accident drill
KASHIMA, Japan - Residents in the town of Kashima, Shimane Prefecture, western Japan, get on a Self-Defense Force truck on Oct. 28 in a major nuclear accident drill at a nuclear power plant in the prefecture. The drill was the first to be conducted in conformity with the Special Measures Law for Nuclear Accidents, which took effect in June and requires the government to conduct a comprehensive drill every year.
