'Lucky' Japan beat Saudis 1-0 to win Asian Cup
BEIRUT, Lebanon - Philippe Troussier, coach of Japan's soccer team, hoists the winner's trophy Oct. 29 after Japan edged Saudi Arabia 1-0 to win the Asian Cup at Beirut Sports City Stadium. Midfielder Shigeyoshi Mochizuki swept in a free kick from Shunsuke Nakamura in the 30th minute, giving Japan their second Asian Cup title, the first since 1992 in Hiroshima.
