Satellite digital broadcasting goes into full swing

TOKYO, Japan - A ceremony is held in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward on Dec. 1 to mark the start of full-fledged digital broadcasting across Japan via satellite. Public broadcaster NHK and eight commercial broadcasters launched the service, which provides high-quality pictures and sound, on 10 channels.
