Yokohama tries out electric bus
YOKOHAMA, Japan - File photo dated Dec. 27 shows the same model of electric-powered bus which Yokohama is testing with the aim of incorporating it into the city's public transportation system. The vehicles are expected to help cut the level of vehicular emissions and reduce noise in the port city south of Tokyo. The 10-meter-long buses are made in New Zealand and are planned to go into service in Yokohama from April 2001.
