Gaur, endangered species, successfully cloned in U.S.
WASHINGTON - Photo provided by Advanced Cell Technology Inc. shows a baby gaur, Noah, born at a genetic center in Iowa Jan. 8, using cross-species cloning. Though Noah died within 48 hours of common dysentery, likely unrelated to cloning, the company said on Jan. 12 his was the first successful birth of a cloned animal on the verge of extinction.
