Seoul takes man denied N. Korean refugee status in Japan
FUKUOKA, Japan - Kim Yong Hwa, who claims to be a refugee from North Korea, arrives at Fukuoka airport on Feb. 5 on his way to South Korea, which has agreed to accept him on humanitarian grounds. Kim had filed a suit with the Fukuoka District Court against Japan's refusal to grant him refugee status but he dropped the case. S. Korea will allow him to stay in the country for a year.
