Japanese emissary meets U.S. admiral over ship-sub collision
HONOLOLU, Hawaii - Japanese government emissary Yoshitaka Sakurada (R) talks with Adm. Tom Fargo, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, at the Japanese Consulate General in Honolulu on Feb. 10 after the Feb. 9 collision between Japanese fishery training ship Ehime Maru and the U.S. nuclear-powered submarine Greeneville that left nine Japanese missing. Sakurada, parliamentary foreign secretary, asked Fargo for further rescue efforts.
