School principal hopes 9 missing in accident still alive
UWAJIMA, Japan - Ietaka Horita, principal of Uwajima Fisheries School in Ehime Prefecture, whose training ship sank off Hawaii last week, tells reporters in Uwajima on Feb. 16 he still holds out hope that the nine people still missing will be found alive. He met reporters a day after returning home from Honolulu. The nine, including four students from the high school and two of their teachers, were among 35 people aboard the Ehime Maru, which sank after it was hit by the U.S. nuclear submarine Greeneville.
