U.S. sub captain regrets the sinking of Japanese ship
HONOLULU, United States - Cmdr. Scott Waddle (photo from the U.S. Navy's Web site) expresses his ''most sincere regret'' Feb. 25 through his lawyer over the collision between U.S. submarine Greeneville and Japanese fisheries training ship Ehime Maru. Waddle, the Greeneville's captain, had been silent on the accident since Feb. 9 when the sub hit and sank the Japanese ship off Hawaii.
