Ex-lawmaker Yamamoto guilty of fraud, gets 1.5 years in jail

TOKYO, Japan - Joji Yamamoto (C), a former member of the House of Representatives, enters the Tokyo District Court building in Tokyo on Feb. 28. The court sentenced him to one and a half years in prison for fraudulent use of public funds from 1996 to 1999.
