U.S. ready to compensate possible deaths off Hawaii
TOKYO, Japan - Adm. William Fallon, a special U.S. envoy to Japan, speaks at a news conference at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo on Feb. 28. He said the United States is prepared to begin negotiating with Japan to compensate the possible loss of lives in connection with the Feb. 9 sinking of a Japanese fisheries training ship by a U.S. submarine off Hawaii.
