Nikkei posts 7th-largest gain, closes above 13,000
TOKYO, Japan - People pass by in Tokyo's Toranomon area on March 21 as the stock price board indicates the Nikkei Stock Average closed above 13,000 for the first time in a month. The bellwether leaped 7.49% or 912.97 points to 13,103.94, its seventh-largest single-day percentage gain ever, following the Bank of Japan's (BOJ) drastic monetary easing decision March 19.
