Itoman fraud defendant Heo gets 7 1/2 years in jail
OSAKA, Japan - Real estate developer Heo Young Joong (file photo) is sentenced March 29 to seven and a half years in prison and fined 500 million yen for his involvement in the collapse of now-defunct Osaka trading house Itoman Corp. Heo, 54, an Osaka-based Korean businessman, was charged with conspiring with two former Itoman executives to cause the trading house to incur about 49 billion yen in losses in 1990.
