Japan makes progress in deciding on visa for Taiwan's Lee
TOKYO, Japan - Foreign Minister Yohei Kono gives a news conference at the Diet building in Tokyo on April 17. Kono suggested the Japanese government is making progress in deciding whether to issue a visa to former Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui, who wants to visit Japan for a medical checkup. Kono refrained from specifying exactly when a decision is expected to come, but said he reported to Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori about the latest developments in Lee's case.
