Japan, U.S. to study ecology of short-tailed albatross
WASHINGTON, United States - Photo taken in March 2000 on Torishima Island, south of Tokyo, shows short-tailed albatrosses, one of three North Pacific species listed as endangered under the World Conservation Union. U.S. officials said May 1 Japan and the United States will research the ecology of the bird to determine what makes an ideal albatross habitat.
