Ichiro goes 0-for-2, takes beanball against Nomo

SEATTLE, United States - Boston Red Sox starter Hideo Nomo delivers a pitch to Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki in the third inning at Safeco Field in Seattle on May 2. In their first major league matchup, Ichiro went 0-for-2 and was hit by one pitch against Nomo. Nomo allowed four runs on four hits over six innings, walking three and striking out six and was the losing pitcher as the Mariners won 5-1.
