Koizumi, Rakhmonov sign joint statement
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (R) and Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov (L) sign a joint statement following talks in Tokyo on May 16. The statement said the two countries agreed to advance bilateral ties by promoting exchanges in political, cultural, science and technology, educational, tourism, and trade and economic fields.
