Japan, Australia agree to resume bilateral ministerial talks

TOKYO, Japan - Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer (L) and Japanese Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka (R) hold talks at the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo on May 28. The two agreed to resume bilateral ministerial talks which have been suspended since the last meeting in August 1997.
