(1)High court upholds death sentence given to serial girl killer
TOKYO, Japan - File photo shows Tsutomu Miyazaki, a 38-year-old former printing shop assistant, whose 1997 lower court death sentence was upheld by the Tokyo High Court on June 28. Presiding Judge Yoshimasa Kawabe ruled that Miyazaki was criminally responsible for the abductions and murders of four girls, aged between 4 and 7, over an 11-month period in 1988-1989.
