Powell arrives in Tokyo for talks with Koizumi
TOKYO, Japan - File photo shows U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. He arrived in Tokyo on July 23 for talks with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and other Japanese officials. During a flight to Japan, Powell expressed regret over a series of crimes allegedly committed by U.S. servicemen stationed in Okinawa Prefecture, but expressed skepticism about revising the Japan-U.S. Status-of-Forces Agreement. He will also visit Vietnam, South Korea, China and Australia to explain new U.S. foreign policy under President George W. Bush.
