Yanai expresses intention to resign

WASHINGTON, July 27 Kyodo - Japanese Ambassador to the United States Shunji Yanai (L) said July 27 it is up to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka whether he should resign over an embezzlement scandal involving Makoto Mizutani (R), who has been dismissed as Japanese Consul General in Denver, Colorado.
