Paper lanterns floated for 1985 jet crash memorial
UENO, Japan - Paper lanterns are floated on the Kanna River at the foot of Mt. Osutaka on Aug. 11, the eve of the 16th anniversary of the world's worst single-aircraft crash. On Aug. 12, 1985, a Japan Airlines Boeing 747, bound from Tokyo to Osaka, crashed on Mt. Osutaka killing all but four of the 524 people on board.
