118 Chinese given death by Japanese military during WWII: docume
TOKYO, Japan - Documents in this photo show that among 179 Chinese citizens tried in 79 cases by a Japanese quasi-military court during World War II in southern China's Huanan region, 118 were given the death sentence, according to a Japanese researcher on Aug. 27. Hiroaki Kita, visiting professor at the Asian Institute at Osaka University of Economics and Law, uncovered the documents on judicial proceedings of the 79 cases and recently compiled them into a book.
