Hot-spring hotel frequented by prime ministers to close
TOKYO, Japan - Tsuruya Hotel, a posh hot-spring resort frequented by Japanese prime ministers and based in Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture, is reported to close on Nov. 1. Known for its beautiful natural surroundings on the Pacific coast, the resort has drawn dignitaries such as Shigeru Yoshida, a five-time prime minister between 1946 and 1954 as well as Takeo Fukuda, who served as prime minister from 1976 to 1978.
