WTO opens Osaka session to discuss antiterrorism steps
OSAKA, Japan - The World Tourism Organization (WTO) openes a general assembly session in Osaka on Sept. 28 to discuss measures to promote global tourism, including antiterrorism steps in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the United States. About 120 countries are participating in the four-day convention under the theme of ''Into New Tourism, Peace, Sustainability and Technology,'' with about 540 tourism ministers, travel industry leaders and others attending.
