Japanese released from 2nd kidnapping by FARC in Colombia
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Shoro Shimura (file photo), who was kidnapped for the second time in August by the leftist guerrilla group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on Aug. 31, is released unharmed on Oct. 18 on the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia. Shimura, a former prefectural assembly member of Yamanashi, central Japan, was kidnapped for the first time by FARC in September 1998 and released about five months later.
