'Obi' for imperial rite arrives at palace
TOKYO, Japan - An Imperial Household Agency official delivers a base containing the ceremonial obi, a 4.6-meter-long red-and-white silk band presented to Crown Princess Masako by Emperor Akihito, to the Togu Palace on Oct. 26. The traditional ''obi wearing'' ceremony was held at the palace to pray for the safe delivery of the baby the crown princess is expecting in late November or early December.
