Toyota's 1st half net profit jumps to record high
NAGOYA, Japan - Fujio Cho, president of Toyota Motor Corp., announces the company's business results in Nagoya on Nov. 8. Consolidated net profit for the fiscal first half through Sept. 30 jumped 82.4% from the same period a year ago to a record 291.11 billion yen as brisk car sales and a weaker yen helped bolster earnings. Group pretax profit also surged 33.7% to a record 526.65 billion yen.
