McDonald's begins using cogeneration system
YOKOHAMA, Japan - Photo shows a cogeneration system installed at one of McDonald's Co. (Japan) Ltd. outlets in Yokohama. The company said Nov. 14, 2001 it has begun tests with the system developed by Tokyo Gas Co. under which power and heat can be generated simultaneously, leading to lower energy costs. The system is expected to help one McDonald's shop save at least 1 million yen a year in electricity costs.
