Joint U.S., Japan anti-guerrilla drills begin in Hokkaido
CHITOSE, Japan - Members of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) (background) watch U.S. Marine Corps soldiers during joint drills at a GSDF post in Chitose, southwestern Hokkaido Prefecture on Nov. 16. The drills at the GSDF base involved about 650 GSDF personnel and 650 U.S. Marines stationed in Hawaii, and are aimed at enhancing the level of cooperation between the two forces.
