Afghan refugees detained by Japan have stress disorder
TOKYO, Japan - Five Afghan men and their lawyers meet the media in Tokyo on Nov. 24, 2001. The Afghans who were detained by immigration authorities for over a month said they are suffering from Acute Traumatic Stress Disorder (ATSD) symptoms due to the detention. The five are among nine Afghan men seeking refugee status in Japan. They were detained Oct. 3 on suspicion of illegal entry.
