Wife of Tigers' manager held over suspected tax evasion

TOKYO, Japan - Tokyo prosecutors Dec. 5 arrest Sachiyo Nomura (file photo), the wife of Hanshin Tigers' manager Katsuya Nomura, on suspicion of evading some 200 million yen in corporate and income taxes.

                    NTT DOCOMO's 5G, New Services and New Products Presentation

                    NTT DoCoMo announced on the 18th that it will start commercial service of the 5th generation communication (5G) on the 25th. The "5G Gigaho" pricing plan will have unlimited data usage capacity for the time being, with a monthly fee starting at 4,480 yen (excluding consumption tax), 500 yen more than the current "Gigaho" 4G plan. The company aims to set up 20,000 5G base stations by fiscal 2021 and 20 million subscribers by fiscal 2011. 500 5G base stations will be installed within the month. The service will be available at 150 locations, including major stadiums such as Yokohama International Stadium and Hanshin Koshien Stadium, major transportation and tourist facilities such as Haneda International Airport, JR Osaka Station and Tokyo Sky Tree, and some docomo shops.                       The connected sensors acquire analog data such as temperature, pressure, water level and flow rate as well as vibration. The data is sent via wireless LAN to an antenna several dozen meters away. The data is collected in the "Machine Dossier" cloud system. The data is displayed in an easy-to-understand manner using graphs and other data. Amazon's Amazon Web Services (AWS) is used as the system infrastructure. The data can be easily viewed on smartphones and other devices. The annual fee for using the system is 48,000 yen (excluding consumption tax) for each eight-point sensor. SEC of America (North Carolina), a wholly owned subsidiary in the U.S., develops and produces the system. Shinkawa Sensor Technology (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), a subsidiary in Japan, will develop and produce higher-specification non-contact vibration sensors.
