(4) Suspicious ship flees despite Coast Guard's halt order

KAGOSHIMA, Japan - A photo taken by the Japan Coast Guard shows an unidentified ship catching on fire after being shot by coast guard patrol vessels in the East China Sea on Dec. 22. The coast guard fired at the ship after it ignored orders to halt, despite a round of warning shots, in the sea off Amami-Oshima Island, southwest of the Japanese main island of Kyushu.
