Tochiazuma gears up as ozeki for New Year sumo
TOKYO, Japan - Tochiazuma (L), who was promoted to sumo's second-highest rank of ozeki, and his stable master Tamanoi, holds up a new sumo ranking table released by the Japan Sumo Association at the stable in Tokyo's Adachi Ward on Dec. 25. Tochiazuma, who was the runner-up at the 15-day Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament in November with 12 wins and 3 losses, will be the first wrestler from the Tamanoi stable to fight at the second-highest rank when the next sumo tournament gets underway at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan on Jan. 13.
