Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi decided to sack Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka (L) and Vice Foreign Minister Yoshiji Nogami (R) late Tuesday following their conflict over whether or not Nogami mentioned the name of a senior lawmaker in reference to the ministry's decision to bar two Japanese nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) from last week's Afghan aid conference in Tokyo.
