UNHCR head sees role for Japanese NGOs in Afghan aid
NEW YORK, United States - United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Ruud Lubbers speaks in an interview with Kyodo News on Feb. 4. He envisioned Japanese non-governmental groups playing a more active role in helping rebuild Afghanistan and assisting refugees globally. ''I would love it, in general in the world, and also in Afghanistan that Japanese NGOs are more prominent taking part in the whole thing,'' Lubbers said.
