Kamakura festival to open in Yokote Feb. 15
YOKOTE, Japan - Children sit in snow huts called kamakura in Yokote, Akita Prefecture, on Feb. 14, the eve of the two-day annual kamakura festival in the northern Japanese city. During the festival, tourists will be invited into snow huts and served sake and rice cakes. About 100 kamakura have been built in the city for the event.
