Kyodo's Oikawa, Asahi's Usami awarded Vaughn-Uyeda Prize
TOKYO, Japan - Hitoshi Oikawa (L in file photo), a senior Kyodo News correspondent in Moscow, and Yusaku Usami, chief of the Asahi Shimbun's Asian General Bureau, have been chosen as recipients of the 2001 Vaughn-Uyeda Prize, which honors contributions made by Japanese journalists in the field of international affairs, the prize's selection committee said Feb. 14.
