GSDF defuses WWII bombshell in center of prefectural capital
NAHA, Japan - A Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) bomb-disposal squad on Feb. 24 defused a live World War II shell (shown in photo) in the Okinawa prefectural government building in Naha. The shell, along with two others like it, was discovered Feb. 15 in the sea off Naha and taken to an office on the 10th floor of the prefectural government building that evening.
