Ex-Chinese party chief Zhao Ziyang deleted from record
BEIJING, China - China has published a collection of more than 100 photographs (photo) to commemorate 30 years of China-U.S. relations. No photo record of Zhao Ziyang, former chief of the Chinese Communist Party, appears in the collection. Zhao, a reformer who was ousted from power for expressing sympathy for a pro-democracy movement that culminated in the bloody 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, was the first Chinese premier to visit the U.S. in an official capacity.
