SAPPORO, Japan - Ryukichi Ogawa, representative of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by members of the Ainu minority, speaks with the media after their claim was dismissed by the Sapporo District Court on March 7. The plaintiffs had claimed that obscure procedures taken by Hokkaido Gov. Tatsuya Hori to return long-held Ainu assets managed by the governor following new legislation were unconstitutional.
