Japanese team discovers 7th century inscription in S. Arabia
CAIRO, Egypt - A research team from Japan's Middle Eastern Culture Center has discovered a seventh century stone inscription (photo) in the Najran area in southern Saudi Arabia, the center's Cairo office said March 7. The hand-carved inscription is possibly one of the oldest Islamic inscriptions in Arabic. The photo was provided by the center.
