Ex-Supreme Court Chief Justice Terada dies at 86
TOKYO, Japan - Jiro Terada (file photo), a former chief justice of the Supreme Court, died of a heart attack at a Tokyo hospital on March 17. He was 86. Terada was appointed to the nation's top court in 1980 and named chief justice in 1982. Terada retired in 1985.
