(2)FY 2002 budget becomes law with upper house approval

TOKYO, Japan - House of Councillors' lawmakers vote on an austere 81.23 trillion yen general-account budget for fiscal 2002 on March 27. The budget, which passed through the House of Representatives on March 6, was also approved by the upper house.
